A Primer for Primary-Care – Guide to ADPKD is an accredited educational program focusing on the management of ADPKD for primary care practitioners in Canada. Join us for this uniquely interactive program that includes a patient case to learn more on the epidemiology and genetics of ADPKD. Discuss diagnostic criteria and complications associated with ADPKD and the essential role of primary-care practitioners in managing them. This program also includes key characteristics and data on the ADPKD-specific treatment, tolvaptan. Lastly, participate in discussions and polling questions to reflect on the knowledge gained and possible changes to practice.

After completing this learning activity, participants will be better able to:
- Identify people at risk for ADPKD
- Apply diagnostic criteria to differentiate between ADPKD and other causes of kidney cysts
- Refer patients with ADPKD to nephrology early in the disease course
- Monitor for and treat the most common renal and extrarenal complications of ADPKD
- Discuss the rationale for ADPKD-specific treatment with tolvaptan
